saferooms

overview

Our concrete above ground saferooms are your family's ultimate protection against Oklahoma's severe weather, engineered specifically to withstand F5 tornado forces and provide a secure shelter during extreme conditions.

All of our storm shelters meet or exceed the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s standards, FEMA 320, FEMA 361, and the International Construction Code/ National Storm Shelter Association (ICC/NSSA) Standard for the Design and Construction of Storm Shelters ICC-500. Since FEMA established its guidelines there has not been a single fatality reported in a storm shelter meeting FEMA’s criteria.

We offer three sizes of above-ground concrete saferooms – from our Small 5'x7' that shelters up to 9 people, to our spacious Jumbo 7'x9' that protects up to 15 people – each featuring attractive exterior patterns and robust ground anchoring systems for maximum stability.

As your local Oklahoma storm protection specialists, we understand the unique weather challenges our region faces, which is why we offer only the highest quality saferooms that exceed industry safety standards while complementing your home's exterior.

FAQS

  • Oklahoma Saferoom and Septic Saferooms undergo rigorous testing at Texas Tech University, where they are subjected to EF-5 simulated projectile impact testing.

Our commitment to safety extends beyond mere testing; each shelter undergoes thorough examination by third-party engineers to ensure compliance with and surpassing of requisite storm shelter codes and standards.

Rest assured, all our shelters not only meet but exceed the rigorous criteria outlined by ICC 500, FEMA 320, and FEMA 361 guidelines for shelters. Your safety and peace of mind are our top priorities.

  • Our Above Ground Saferoom is engineered for both safety and simplicity. No concrete pad or extensive preparation is necessary; only a flat, level area is required for installation. Once placed, our saferooms are secured with 6-8 anchors, depending on size. These anchors are augured 30" into the ground and then bolted to 3.8-ton cable loops, ensuring robust tornado protection.

  • There are three primary advantages of concrete over metal shelters:

    1. Concrete exhibits superior resistance to rust and corrosion compared to steel shelters.

    2. During the intense heat of peak storm season, concrete maintains its temperature more effectively than steel shelters making it you more comfortable when you are in your storm shelter.

    3. The substantial security provided by up to 6 inches of concrete surrounding you offers considerable peace of mind.
